Durable
Construction and Electronics
Valesco's battery support system equipment is designed to
withstand the wear and tear of industrial
environments. Both the Satellite 6™ and Enterprise 3000™ have tough
metal housings and durable polyurethane pockets, making them true industrial
battery chargers and analyzers. The electronics are built tough too.
Each pocket has its own micro controller, resulting in completely independent
operation. If one pocket should fail, the other pockets will continue
to charge and condition your batteries.
Accurate
Internal Temperature Measurement
Accurate battery temperature is a key variable for starting
the charging sequence, maintaining the appropriate charging rate, and
for proper charging termination. E-Tronic's unique pocket design allows
our chargers to access the battery's internal thermistor, provided it
is equipped with one. By using the actual battery temperature (rather
than the battery surface temperature), the batteries are treated in
the ideal manner and helping to extend battery life.
Green
Means "Your Battery Has The Required Charge"
Two way radios users rely on their battery for their safety and efficiency
at work. They need to know that their battery will keep them connected.
A green light on most metal hydride chargers means "I'm done charging",
but gives no confidence that their battery has enough charge to last
a working shift. Essentially a battery could last 10 hours, or worse
10 minutes.
With the Satellite 6™
charger, the customer's management can choose a pre-set minimum charge
that a battery must have to qualify for use. This pre-set minimum
is programmed into our chargers. The charger automatically takes care
of the charging sequence, and the user needs no training and pushes
no buttons. So when an Valesco charger turns green, it means "Your
battery has met the required charge". The radio user can be confident
the charge will last.
The
Proper Charging And Conditioning For All Battery Chemistries
Valesco
equipment can simultaneously process all the four major chemistries,
including nickel cadmium, nickel metal hydride, lithium ion and SLA.
The automated programs charge and condition each unit exactly to the
manufacturers specifications. The Satellite 6™ for example, automatically
discharges nickel based batteries to the manufacturers specified level
before charging. This help to eliminate the "memory effect" a problem
most commonly seen with Ni-Cad batteries. In addition, the Satellite
6™'s preset capacity can be used to automatically trigger a single
deep discharge cycle to try and recover the battery. The Enterprise
3000™ is equipped with user selectable preset programs to recondition,
help identify faults, determine capacities, and properly precondition
new batteries. Both products play an important role in ensuring fleets
are properly maintained and optimized life is delivered.
